Full estate administration

including GST
Letters of administration: professional fees from $1,490 including GST, with scope and fee confirmed in writing.
The Supreme Court filing fee and the cost of publishing the required notice are set by others and charged at cost. No percentage of the estate. See the full probate page for what each fee covers.
What the full-service fee covers
The $4,400 fixed professional fee includes GST and the grant of probate itself, plus up to 3 bank accounts, a retirement village exit or one property transfer, and distribution to up to 6 beneficiaries. More complex estates are quoted separately. Court fees, advertising and other disbursements are additional. We confirm the agreed scope in writing.
You may need the court grant only, help with an estate after probate, or someone to handle the agreed administration work. We start by checking the will, how the assets were owned and what the banks and other institutions require, then confirm the tasks and fee in writing.
Michael Klein is based full-time at 15 Fortune Street, Scarborough. We see clients there by appointment and offer phone and video discussions for executors across Moreton Bay. Serving a suburb does not mean we have an office in that suburb.
Use our Redcliffe Peninsula, North Lakes and Caboolture pages for more specific local guidance. The Queensland probate process depends on the will and estate assets, not on which Moreton Bay suburb the deceased lived in.
What can come up in a Moreton Bay estate
Grant-only or full administration
Probate alone is $1,490. Full administration is $4,400, including the grant, up to 3 bank accounts, a retirement village exit or one property transfer, and distribution to up to 6 beneficiaries. Professional fees include GST; disbursements are additional and more complex estates are quoted.
No will or uncertain ownership
Without a will, letters of administration may be needed; professional fees start from $1,490 including GST, plus disbursements. Jointly held assets and superannuation need separate checks rather than assumptions about what belongs to the estate.
We tell you if you do not need a grant
Assets held as joint tenants pass by survivorship, and superannuation and life insurance often sit outside the estate. If the bank's threshold covers it, we will say so rather than sell you an application.
Notice, filing and requisitions handled
Notice of intention to apply published and served on the Public Trustee, the application and executor's affidavit prepared and filed in the Supreme Court of Queensland, and any registry requisitions dealt with.
Property in the estate dealt with in-house
Transmission application to put the executor on title, then the sale or transfer itself. One firm, one file — the estate is not paying a second practice to finish the job.

From the first conversation to distribution
- 1. Check what is needed. We review the will, ownership and institution requirements before recommending a grant.
- 2. Confirm the work and costs. Choose grant-only help or the agreed administration package, with fees and disbursements confirmed in writing.
- 3. Prepare the court application. We arrange the required notice, supporting material and filing, and respond to registry requisitions.
- 4. Administer the estate if instructed. We handle the agreed asset, account and distribution work, checking liabilities and claim risks before funds are paid out.

Common questions
Do you have offices in North Lakes or Caboolture?
Our Moreton Bay office is at 15 Fortune Street, Scarborough QLD 4020. We serve North Lakes, Mango Hill, Burpengary, Morayfield and Caboolture from Scarborough, with appointments there or by phone and video.
How much does a grant of probate cost in Moreton Bay?
Our fixed professional fee for a straightforward grant is $1,490 including GST, and full estate administration is $4,400 including GST. The Supreme Court filing fee and the cost of publishing the required notice are set by others and charged at cost. We put both figures in writing before you engage us, and the estate normally pays them.
How long does it take?
The notice must be published and served on the Public Trustee, and the application cannot be filed until at least 14 days later. Where the material is in order a grant commonly issues six to ten weeks after we start. Collecting assets and distributing takes longer again.
What if there is no will?
The application becomes one for letters of administration, and the intestacy rules decide who is entitled to apply. Professional fees start from $1,490 including GST, plus disbursements. We confirm the scope and fee after checking the next-of-kin evidence.
When can the estate be distributed?
Not within six months of the date of death without accepting real risk — a family provision application can still be brought, and an executor who has already paid the money out can be left personally carrying it. We will tell you when it is safe to distribute and what to do if a claim is foreshadowed.
Do I have to attend an office?
No. Most executors deal with us by email and phone, and documents can be signed and witnessed locally. Our offices at 40 Theresa Street, Golden Beach QLD 4551 and 15 Fortune Street, Scarborough QLD 4020 are available by appointment if you would rather sit down with someone.
