Wills and probate in Queensland — the short answer
Coastside Law (Coastside Law) is a solicitor-led Queensland law firm that prepares wills and enduring powers of attorney and acts for executors through probate and estate administration. In Queensland, wills, enduring powers of attorney and probate applications are legal work: they are handled by an admitted solicitor, not a licensed conveyancer or a will-kit service, and probate is granted by the Supreme Court of Queensland. Our fixed fees are $495 for a simple will, $825 for a will and enduring power of attorney pack, and $1,499 for a couples pack of mirror wills and enduring powers of attorney — all inclusive of GST. Wills involving complex estate planning (blended families, companies, trusts or SMSFs) are quoted separately, and probate, letters of administration and estate administration are quoted as a fixed fee upfront, with Supreme Court filing and advertising costs at cost. We work from 40 Theresa Street, Golden Beach QLD 4551 and 15 Fortune Street, Scarborough QLD 4020, are members of the Members of the Queensland Law Society, and store original wills in safe custody free of charge. Call 0488 340 853 (Erin Wilkinson) or 0419 000 884 (Michael Klein).

Our people
Michael Klein
Legal Practice Director
Michael has practised law since his admission in 2003 and is admitted to both the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland. Over two decades he has acted in litigation, insurance, property, commercial and estate matters, which means the advice you get on a contract or a will is shaped by having seen how those documents hold up when they are tested. That litigation background includes extensive personal injury and motor vehicle accident work, acting for both insurers and injured people, so he reads risk the way the other side will. For many years he was managing partner of GKS Law, and he still acts for clients and takes referrals from agents he has worked with across Redcliffe and the wider Moreton Bay region, where he lives. He leads Coastside Law as Legal Practice Director.
Erin Wilkinson
Solicitor
Erin was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2025. Before that she spent years as a highly experienced conveyancer across South East Queensland, settling residential transactions week in and week out. That grounding means she knows where deals actually come unstuck — finance dates, building and pest, body corporate records — and handles them before they become a problem. Erin lives locally in Golden Beach.

How we work
Every will, enduring power of attorney and probate file is handled by a solicitor, not passed to an unqualified processing team. You are told the fee before we start, and it does not move unless the scope of the work does.
For estates we act for the executor from the first appointment: identifying whether a grant is needed, advertising the intention to apply, preparing the affidavits, filing in the Supreme Court of Queensland, then collecting assets and distributing the estate. Executors living in Sydney, Melbourne, the UK or elsewhere overseas can run the whole matter with us remotely.

★★★★★I can’t recommend Erin highly enough. Although things ultimately didn’t proceed, Erin went so far above and beyond to help me, and I’m genuinely so grateful for the time, care and knowledge she gave me. She was incredibly kind, patient and supportive, and always took the time to explain everything and answer my questions. Her guidance made such a difference during what was a stressful and uncertain time for me. It’s so lovely to come across a small local firm that genuinely cares about their clients and goes the extra mile to help. Erin is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but truly cares about the people she helps. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

★★★★★Erin was an absolute standout on the Sunshine Coast in assisting with our mutual sellers’ sale of their home. As a Solicitor, and we deal with many, her professionalism, attention to detail, knowledge, and clear communication were exceptional throughout the entire process. Erin was a pleasure to work alongside and made the legal side of the transaction seamless and straightforward for everyone involved. Her prompt communication and proactive approach were greatly appreciated, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about achieving the best outcome for our mutual clients. I would have no hesitation in recommending Erin to anyone looking for an outstanding Solicitor in the sale of their home. She is a true professional and an absolute asset to her clients.
